UVA Wise Mathematics Instructor Rachel Clay-Keohane uses collaborative documents to encourage and foster student interaction. UVA Wise provides faculty and students with an iPad, and Clay-Keohane uses the Numbers app in her course, allowing for real-time collaboration between students. She has access to students' spreadsheets and can oversee their work easily in class by having each student use a different color to signify their contributions. Clay-Keohane says collaborative documents can also be used for more group interaction outside of class time, especially for those students who can't meet as easily.
