Using Poll Everywhere to Preview Weekly Content

Poll Everywhere has been an easy way for School of Education and Human Development Associate Professor Ottilie Austin to give her students a preview of the material for the upcoming week. At the beginning of each module, Austin creates a poll that she embeds in her course site; she shares it in a weekly announcement as well as within the specific module. Poll Everywhere has different kinds of activities that Austin asks her students to complete, from answering a multiple choice question to submitting words for a word cloud. She also appreciates that the tool has a feature for students to submit responses anonymously. Austin makes sure to share the live results with students in her course site, allowing them to see how their responses to the poll relate to and inform what's being covered that week.
