Guiding Questions - Creating Equitable OER with Intention

Josie Gray and Clint Lalonde

Our Recommendation
We like this resource as it poses key questions about creating accessible and inclusive OER from its inception. The considerations posed aid in scaffolding a project in a meaningful and intentional manner from the start and it's a quick reference we've used for our own work.
Equitable, accessible, and engaging open educational resources (OER) don’t happen by accident. They happen because someone (often many someones) planned for it and completed the work with intention and care.  These guiding questions are intended to support OER authors and contributors in doing the following: * Document their vision, intentions, and commitments for the OER from the beginning of the project. * Identify areas where more learning, research, and/or support may be needed. * Communicate the work and consideration that went into the creation and design of the resource to future users of the OER.
