Biography

Kiera Allison is Assistant Professor of Management Communication at the McIntire School of Commerce. Her research centers on performance cognition, learning technology, and educational reform, and she is currently leading several inter-university studies on the impacts of AI on teaching and learning, including a cross-institutional analysis of faculty change-response behaviors since the emergence of ChatGPT.

She teaches communication strategy and public speaking to undergraduate and graduate business students, and coaches professionals across career stages on their performance preparation, anxiety management, and delivery. Her online course, "Writing with Generative AI," developed for the Commerce Essentials series, aims to help students navigate their future as writers and professionals in an AI-augmented landscape. She holds a Ph.D. in English Literature and an extensive background in vocal performance.
